อนาคตของ Personal Mobile Mapping System
การพัฒนาและการประยุกต์ใช้ระบบทำแผนที่ชนิดเคลื่อนที่ได้ (Mobile Mapping System :MMS) ในบ้านเรากำลังเริ่มต้น และจะแพร่หลายมากขึ้นเรื่อย ในปีนี้เราอาจจะเห็นเอกชนและส่วนราชการ จัดหาระบบ MMS มาใช้งานในการบันทึกข้อมูลบนโครงข่ายสายทาง บันทึกกายภายตามเส้นทางในเมือง บันทึกข้อมูลสภาพการใช้ประโยชน์ที่ดินและสิ่งปลูกสร้าง สำหรับกูเกิ้ลกำลังพัฒนาสมาร์ทดีไวซ์รุ่นใหม่ ไม่แน่ว่าจะเป็นซี่รีย์ Nexus หรือไม่ แต่ที่แน่คือเป็นการอัฟเดท เซนเซอร์บน android platform จากเดิมที่มีเพียง 3-D MEMS-based electronic compass , Inclinometer, GPS , light-sensor, proximity sensor ตอนนี้กูเกิ้ลจะสร้างพิมพ์เขียวให้ android platform สามารถบอกตำแหน่งตัวเองและทำแผนที่รอบๆตัวไปพร้อมกันในคราวเดียว ตามแนวคิด Simultaneous Location and Mapping : SLAM โดยที่ระบบคงจะเป็น image-processing based เพื่อให้เซนเซอต์มีราคาถูกและประหยัดพลังงาน แต่ซอฟต์แวร์คงซับซ้อนมากพอดู Personal Mobile Mapping System : PMMS ดังกล่าวเช่น ที่กูเกิ้ลกำลังพัฒนาโครงการ Tango

The 10th International Conference on ASIA GIS (ASIA GIS 2014) is held during 16 – 17 June 2014 at Lotus Hotel Pang Suan Kaew, Chiang Mai, Thailand(Latitude 18°47’42.46″ N, Longitude 98°58’29.15″ E). Asia GIS is a biannual program organized by Asia Geographic Information System Association (AGISA) for GIS academics and professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. ASIA GIS was first held in Hong Kong (1994) and subsequently in Bangkok (1996), Taipei (1998), Tokyo (2000), Wuhan (2003), and Johor, Malaysia (2006), Korea (2008), Taiwan (2010), Mongolia (2012）.

During the Asia GIS 2014 conference, GISTDA plan to organize Beidou ASEAN Tour symposium as a parallel session with our conference at Lotus pang suan keaw. It is same place and date with Asia GIS 2014 but it will be parallel organized in another room. It will be free of charge of registration fee for this symposium.This symposium’s participant can’t attend Asia GIS 2014 but Asia GIS 2014′s participants can attend this symposium. It is will be more benefit for our participants to fulfill their knowledge. Beidou ASEAN Tour symposium include exhibition, half day symposium and business matching responded by China Satellite Navigation Office or CSNO.

CHIANGMAI
Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second city, but in terms of quality of living, tourist attractions and development potential, it’s second to none in Southeast-Asia.large part (69.31 %) of Chiang Mai’s land is covered by mountains and forests. These generally run in a north-south pattern through the province and give birth to several streams and tributaries (such as the Mae Jam, Mae Ngud, and Mae Klang) which in turn feed important rivers and irrigation canals (such as the Muang and Faay) which provide the water necessary to Chiang Mai’s agriculture. Chiang Mai’s largest and most important river is the Ping, which originates in the mountains of Chiang Dao and flows southward for 540 kilometers (337.5 miles). It is along the banks of this river that Chiang Mai’s flat, fertile valley area lies. The city is famous for her friendly people, beautiful women, refined handicrafts, cool climate and stunning mountain scenery. More than three-hundred temples, among them some of the most beautiful and revered in the entire Buddhist world, give the city an atmosphere of calmness and timeless elegance.
It is important for those participants from overseas to check their visa requirement for entry into Thailand. It is strongly recommended that you contact, as soon as you can, the Embassy or Consulate of Thailand in your country to ascertain whether or not you require a visa and to check details of visa requirements, if any. Please note that it may take a few weeks to obtain a visa following the submissions of visa application.
Before applying for the Visa, please make sure that you have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months counting from the date of arrival in Thailand.
Please note that any cost involved in obtaining the visa should be borne by the participant concerned. Any participants who requires an invitation letters from GISTDA, the local organization in Thailand, for visa application purposes should provide needed information when register for Asia GIS 2014.

Abstract
You are kindly invited to submit electronically original, English-language research contributions or experience reports not concurrently submitted elsewhere. Abstracts should be submitted firstly and must be between 800-1200 words. Abstracts are better typed in Word for Windows PC format. Registration
- Registration fee includes all technical sessions, a CD of all accepted abstracts and full papers, welcome banquet and coffee breaks.
- For each paper included in the program and CD, at least one of the authors must be fully registered in the conference before the deadline of the early bird registration.
- Discount for early bird registration and students are available.
- Registration fee can be paid online or on-site, but the participant should online register first.
- All credit card payments online will be charged in Thai baht. Cash payments can be made in Thai baht or US dollars.
- Official receipts of paid registration fees will be issued at the conference reception desk during check-in.
