27 June 2010 - UNAMID’s Nepalese Special Forces today concluded their first extended long range patrol, which began on 19 June and travelled through North and West Darfur. The convoy was accompanied by the Mission’s tactical helicopters and was joined by Force Commander Lt. Gen Patrick Nyamvumba on 25 June.

Two German nationals from Technisches Hilfswerk (THW), a German relief organization, were reported kidnapped last night from their residence in Nyala, South Darfur. No other details are known at this time. Meanwhile, it has been 37 days since the Samaritan Purse aid worker was kidnapped in South Darfur.
