Final Results Workshop on Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Study for the Lower Mekong Basin
With the support of US Agency for International Development (USAID) and Thailand's Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning (ONEP), Mekong ARCC is organizing a Final Results Workshop on the project’s “Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Study for the Lower Mekong Basin” at the Eastin Grand Hotel Sathornin Bangkok, Thailand, on March 28-29, 2013. This is a closed event with participation byinvitation only.
PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP: The Final Results Workshop is being conducted to review the penultimate draft of the “Climate Change Impact and Adaptation Study for the Lower Mekong Basin”. The workshop brings together expert participants from Laos PDR, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam with the opportunity to review and comment on the Study findings prior its finalization. The results presented will build on the Study methodology and baseline data information shared at the Interim Results Workshopconducted in Hanoi from October 31 - November 1, 2012.
ABOUT MEKONG ARCC:
The Mekong Adaptation and Resilience to Climate Change (Mekong ARCC) Project is a five-year program (2011-2016) funded by the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA) in Bangkok and implemented by DAI and subcontractors the International Centre for Environmental Management (ICEM) and the World Resources Institute (WRI). The project addresses information and policy gaps to provide communities in the Mekong River Basin with the guidance and support they need to develop sustainable integrated adaptation plans that will increase their ability to cope with the negative impacts of climate change. Mekong ARCC is headquartered in Bangkok and supports climate change research and adaptation initiatives in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Lao PDR.
